Friday My Town Shoot Out: Places of Worship

This weeks topic was selected by Rebecca. Be sure to click on her name and see what she has to show you. You can also check out the rest of the Friday My Town Shoot Out group.

This old church makes me think of cars with white walled tires, Easter bonnets, ladies stockings with seams and little girls with frilly dresses and white anklets. I wonder how long the bell will remain hanging.

Oh how it needs somebody to love it back to life! I would love to investigate it. I can picture all those things there too.

Love this picture and the images it conjures up in my mind of days gone by.

What a grand building! What is the story behind its abandonment? Why wasn't the bell moved to the "new" location?

Mary,
The church looks like it is made of wood, is it? Your write up was a walk down memory lane. Lovely. Enough about the shootout.

Let's move on to the more interesting story of Riley and his cousin. How cute are they? Barry and I laughed out loud about that pick up line! You will be watching out for the two of them in a few years. Precious.
Thanks for sharing.

Best Wishes, Barry and Linda

Lovely church. Alot of chapels and churches are turned into houses and homes in this country. Sometimes the transformation is tacky but occasionally they are lovely.

what a treasure! did you get a close up of the bell? I am with Rebecca, I would want to get up close and inside if I could.

I LOVED what you wrote along with the picture. My favorite era of novels are in the timeframe when I'm sure this church was in its heyday. It's nice sometimes to think of a building's history...

I love old buildings like this; although I hope it is cared for and does not fall to the way side in the future...

That's beautiful! I wonder why they left the bell?
