Most of these are file photos. These were taken in August 2006 by my son-in-law just south of my town. It did damage a sign and some windows at a motel near I-70.
This tornado was a few miles north of our home back in the 90's, it destroyed an irrigation system.
A blizzard in the mid 1980's created this drift reaching to the roof of a mobile home. My children picture here are now 28 & 31.
An ice coated weed.
A view of my house from the back yard.
A rainbow from this past summer.

These are incredible photos Mary. This week's subject was just meant for you! Always a pleasure to visit with you and see your world.
wow, you were able to take a shot of a tornado. I like the last photo very much!
I remember those tornadoes and the blizzards! I am glad we didn't get the high winds with the storm this time.
Except the tornado, I could deal with all of the weather you pictured.
Great photos.
Wow! These are amazing weather photos. You practically have it all. I really like the iced weed. It looks like a glass sculpture. Very nice pics.
Magnificent tornado shots!
I used to think it would be neat to live in a tornado area, until I did...
Waaaaahhh!!!! Your tornadey pics reminded me that I had a dream about a tornado the other night. Scaaaary!
whow great variation of weather in the heartland. we used to live in a 10x52 trailer in southern Michigan and had the same type of things, tornados in the summer and snow drifts and ice in the winter -
great blog
Great photos, as always, Mary. Looking at all that "weather" gets one's adrenaline going.
Oh wow, Mary, those are incredible shots of the tornadoes!!
Ice even makes weeds pretty :)
Wow what a great variety of photos! I love them all. Growing up in Texas I saw tornadoes each year, and they would touch down a block away from our house...

Incredibly beautiful photos! that tornado looks scary, I hope not much damage was done by it that day.
I never expected to see closeups today of tornados. What a treat, and tremendous shots, too. Your post was terrific.
WOW! Tornadoes are the holy grail of weather photographers!
Very nice. I just got in. I am such an amateur, but I am learning.

These are incredible weather shots. I cannot imagine living in an area that has tornadoes! You even get really bad snowstorms! Wow!!! You are brave! The shot of the ice on the plant was very lyrical. Even when the weather pics are old, they still pack a punch! Thanks for sharing Mary. A big hello to your grandchildren. They are so adorable!
We hope blue skies are smiling at you,
from Barry and Linda

I'll say that's some weather!!! Yikes! The photo of the snow to the top of the mobile home is pretty impressive too.
Great shoot out!
You reside in the Kansas of Oz with its tornadoes and rainbows, how perfect for this week's theme! If you live in tornado alley you really learn to pay attention to the weather, don't you? I would have ditched the camera and ducked & covered if I saw those scary tornadoes.
A tornado is one of those phenomena that it must be wonderful to see - but only if you and yours are somewhere very safe at the time.
Wowza! Tornados....makes me shiver, we get a few here, enough to make me nervous.
That's some serious weather you get. I feel like such a wimp, complaining about ours!
Like the rainbow in particular!
WOW, these are such wonderful photos! Exactly what I was hoping for in choosing the theme. I actually gasped when I saw the tornado shots - breathtaking!
You must have been excited about this theme - you have such great REAL weather shots to share. From tornadoes to rainbows - fantastic!
