These trees/shrubs grow wild near a railroad culvert close to my house. I just noticed the blossoms a few years ago. They are very fragrant and the branches have thorns. I've never seen any fruit, but I have startled deer and birds in the thicket when I approached. Click on the picture to get a closeup view. Do you recognized it? The terrain's too rough to get my mother-in-law with the green thumb down there to identify it.

I've never seen anything quite like that. It will be interesting to see if someone knows what it is.
Sorry, I can't identify it - nothing like that in my area.
We have some wild flowering pear trees around here that look a lot like that. They have those long thorns also. They also have this little round fruit(I guess you can call them that) marble size. The birds love them when they ripen in the fall.
The blooms are so picture in your picture.

They are beautiful, one reference I have says many stout spurs ending in spines..Pyrus communis if you care to look it up..Common Pear or Wild pear:0
