Wayne, Nebraska

In our travels this week, my mother and I went to Wayne to visit my cousin- her mom and mine were sisters. We'd never been to her home, but had heard about it for years. She and her husband are the third owners of the house. It is just chock full of charming detail. It still has the original light fixtures in all of the rooms. Many rooms have matching wall sconces. There is also a "back" stairs, a solarium, the original fireplace with built-in cabinetry and a cold room (now transformed into a bathroom.) A very interesting visit.

What a beautiful home and I love that light fixture. So glad you two had this opportunity. Happy Halloween.

Older homes definitely have more character than their contemporaries. I hope you will post more photos later.

Love the snow picture in the header. Nature can make some beautiful sculptures.

Looks like a very nice and well kept home. It's wonderful to see a home that's been cherished and cared for over years.

Love the house. The woodwork reminds me of the house I used to have in Brewster. It was an old house, too, and full of charm. I loved it.

What a great house! I like the proportions of craftsman style houses. It's absolutely great that all the owners have kept it all intact. My favorite feature is the teeny little "balcony" on the front wall. Looks like a little gnome balcony! :-P

When I enlarge the second picture there's something that strikes me as odd about the clock in the next room. How does it appear that the clock is facing the camera when the wall it's on is not???
